What Is a DUPRO Inspection?

A During Production Inspection (DUPRO), also called an In-Line Inspection, is conducted when 20–80% of your production is complete. Unlike a pre-shipment inspection, DUPRO allows defects to be identified and corrected while production is still underway — preventing a full batch of defective goods.

DUPRO is especially valuable for large orders, new factories, or high-risk products where catching problems late would be costly or impossible to remedy.

What DUPRO Catches

  • Systematic production errors affecting multiple units
  • Material or component substitutions mid-production
  • Workmanship issues: poor stitching, incorrect assembly, surface defects
  • Colour or material deviations from approved samples
  • Incorrect sizing, measurements, or specifications
  • Machine calibration and production process issues

When to Order DUPRO

  • Orders over 3,000 units or high-value shipments
  • New factory relationships (first 1–3 orders)
  • Products with complex assembly or tight tolerances
  • When your supplier has a history of last-minute surprises
  • Combined with a pre-shipment inspection for full coverage

DUPRO vs Pre-Shipment: Which Do You Need?

DUPRO (In-Line)

  • Conducted at 20–80% production
  • Defects can still be corrected
  • Best for large/complex orders
  • Prevents systematic failures

Pre-Shipment (PSI)

  • Conducted at 80–100% production
  • Final quality gate before shipping
  • Best for all orders
  • Approves or rejects shipment
